SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 18,597 new cases of COVID-19 by noon on Friday (February 25), with 18,383 local and 214 imported infections.

There were 11 deaths, bringing the number of deaths due to coronavirus complications to 986.

There are 1,584 patients in the hospital, according to the latest infection statistics on the website of the Ministry of Health (MH). A total of 211 patients needed oxygen supplementation.

Forty - six patients have been in the intensive care unit since Thursday 44. Most new COVID-19 infections in Singapore are protocol 2 cases, which are good ones when a mild condition is diagnosed.

Among the cases reported on Friday, 15,411 were classified according to Protocol 2, which consisted of 15,313 local cases and 98 imported.

Another 3186 cases were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, of which 116 were infected.

The weekly growth rate of the infection was 1.26, compared to 1.37 on Thursday.

Singapore has recorded 679,795 cases of COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic. On Thursday, 94 percent of Singapore's eligible population completed their full vaccination schedule as part of the country's vaccination program.

About 67 percent of the total population received their support for faxing.
