Seniors and carers of children aged five to 11 in England can now book a small dose of Covid vaccine for their children.

The strokes - which are already widely used in other countries - can be booked online from Monday and are available on hundreds of sites.

This is because officials estimate that the virus has a record 4.9 million people in the UK - up from 4.3 million last week.

The numbers were released when free trials for most people in England ended.

Vaccination counselors in the UK say that injections can "help protect children in the future" from infections. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are already offering stabs.

In general, most children are not at risk of developing severe Covid disease.

In February, the Joint Vaccination and Immunization Committee said vaccines should be continued to prevent "a very small number of children from serious illness and hospitalization" in the upcoming wave of Covid.

He recommends two doses of a low-dose vaccine 12 weeks apart, with about five million children now eligible.

The vaccine consists of one third of the adult dose.

Dr Nikki Kanani, a family physician and deputy for the NHS Covid-19 vaccination program, said vaccines remain the best defense against the virus.

He added: "My 13-year-old son has had two vaccinations and my 10-year-old daughter will be reading books for the first time and I encourage all parents to read and have access to available NHS information. consider the same. "

Meanwhile, Health Minister Sajid Javid said: "Children without health are at lower risk of serious illness Covid and the NHS's priority remains to provide vaccines and spring stimulants to adults and vulnerable young people such as arrests, along with other childhood immunization programs. . "

Most meetings can be held at local immunization centers and community pharmacies. Walk-in stabbing options will also be offered.

Seniors and carers of eligible children will receive an invitation from the NHS in the coming weeks.

Stings are offered to young children with conditions that put them at increased risk for Covid disease or living with people with weakened immune systems. The wider prevalence of stinging in children comes after the National Statistics Office's latest estimates suggest that approximately one in 13 people in the UK has a coronavirus, with cases occurring in almost 5 million cases.

The data for the week ending March 26 is expected to provide the most accurate reflection of what happened to the virus in the community.

The increase was partly due to the infectious subvariant Omicron BA.2 and people are still mixing.

Jim McManus, president of the Association of Directors of Public Health, said the increase caused the devastation of businesses, workplaces, schools and the NHS, leaving employees ill.

People can help prevent the rise by ventilating the premises and wearing masks in many areas, he told BBC Radio 4 today. "These are the only steps we are taking to keep the virus short and allow the NHS and companies to do business as usual," he said.

"If we want to be optimistic, we have to do some work to get there."

Meanwhile, the government's "living with Covid" plan means that the free trial will only continue for certain groups - including some people with weakened immune systems, people admitted to the hospital, and medical and nursing staff.

Prime Minister Brandon Lewis said that today there is a point where the support packages introduced during the pandemic will slow down and end as the country learns to live with Covid.
