SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has deferred the beginning date of reconsidered safe administration measures because of the continuous flood in COVID-19 cases, it reported on Thursday (Feb 24).

The COVID-19 multi-service team (MTF) reported last week that it would rearrange and smooth out existing standards in two stages, the first was scheduled to start on Friday.

MOH said another date will be declared "instantly", adding that the current principles would stay in power.

"The smoothing out would have involved, in addition to other things, permitting gatherings of five to visit homes at any one time, parties of up to five people at working environments, changes in accordance with immunization separated safe administration measures for unvaccinated kids matured 12 years and underneath, and the resumption of group activities," said MOH.

"As this smoothing out practice includes broad revisions to existing guidelines that have collected throughout the course of recent years, we reported then that the progressions will be carried out in stages, on Feb 25 and Mar 4, 2022.

"Given the current flood in every day cases, and the broad work engaged with going through the definite principles across various settings, the MTF has checked regarding this situation and has chosen to solidify and smooth out the SMMs in one go all things considered."

Singapore is presently amidst a COVID-19 flood, with a day by day record of 26,032 new contaminations covered Tuesday. The quantity of new COVID-19 cases fell on Wednesday to 20,312.
